The James P. Hidley Cottage is a small Carpenter Gothic house in western Butler County, Ohio, United States. Erected in 1860, the house is important as one of the area's few houses of its style, and it has been named a historic site. The cottage sits on land first owned by Butler County pioneer Samuel Dick, who acquired the title in 1801; he bequeathed it to his son David, who constructed a combined gristmill and sawmill on the property in 1810. A complex series of property transfers resulted in Hidley's acquiring title both to the mill and to the land on which the house was built, but years apart. He arranged for the house's construction in 1860, eight years before buying full title to the mill, which was ultimately demolished in 1940.Built with weatherboarded walls on a stone foundation, the house features many elements of the Carpenter Gothic style. The walls are board and batten, unlike typical weatherboarding, while the gabled roof and the porch feature finely decorated bargeboards and other wooden details. Both doors and windows are placed both on the front and on the sides, with a single window appearing in the top half story. A single chimney sits at the center of the roofline.In 1980, the Hidley Cottage was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a distinction now held by more than eighty locations countywide. It qualified for designation based on its historically significant architecture, as very few authentic Carpenter Gothic houses built in Butler County have survived to the present day.

Talawanda High School (THS) is a public high school in Oxford, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Talawanda School District and serves students in grades 9–12. It was created in 1956 with the consolidation of three Butler County high schools: Somerville and Collinsville High Schools in Milford Township, Hanover HS in Hanover Township (at the intersection of Mormon and Old Oxford Roads), and Stewart and McGuffey High Schools in Oxford Township. The first graduating class was in 1957. Athletic teams are known as the Brave, and the school colors are red, white, and navy blue.

The Roberts Mound is a Native American mound in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio, United States. Located northwest of Auburn in Butler County, the mound sits in Section 36 of Reily Township; it is the only mound in the far southeastern part of the township.Built in the shape of a cone, the Roberts Mound is believed to have been built during the Woodland period. Many similar mounds and other types of earthworks are located in the vicinity of the Roberts Mound, but unlike most of them, it has never been excavated. While the lack of artifacts prevents the culture of the builders from being known with certainty, the lack of disturbance has caused it to be ranked among the most well-preserved mounds in the region.In recognition of its archaeological value, the Roberts Mound was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Five other archaeological sites in Butler County were placed on the National Register in the same year.

Oxford is a proposed Amtrak station in Oxford, Ohio that will be served by the Cardinal. The stop was first proposed in 2009, but an Amtrak study for such a stop determined that ridership would not be high enough to justify a stop in Oxford. However, in 2014, it was noted that nearby Miami University had a student population of around 16,000, prompting Amtrak to look again at adding an Oxford stop. In the winter of 2016–2017, it was announced that $700,000 funding for the station has been provided by the City of Oxford and Miami University, each contributing $350,000.Amtrak is ready to move forward with adding the stop once it is constructed. The platform will be a Category 4 platform, an unmanned kiosk. As of March 2021, negotiations with the contractors are continuing. The platform is to be built near the intersection of Main and Chestnut Streets in Oxford.On November 4, 2022, It was announced that $2 million in funding through the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments had been awarded for the project. The platform will be part of a new multimodal station in Oxford, and is slated to start construction in 2026.

Harris Dining Hall – also known simply as Harris Hall- was named after Andrew Lintner Harris and was one of the many dining facilities located on the campus at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Since 1961, it was the main all-you-can-eat dining hall for undergraduate students who live on the southern side of the campus. The dining hall was closed after the spring semester of the 2016/2017 school year and it is unknown whether it will reopen. Harris was designed like most other buildings on campus in red brick and with a Georgian Revival architectural style.

The Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum is a public art museum located on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. As of 2021, John "Jack" Green is the director and chief curator of the museum.

Goggin Ice Center (The Goggin) is a multi-purpose sports facility in Oxford, Ohio on the Miami University campus. It replaced the Goggin Ice Arena. Like its predecessor, it is named for Lloyd Goggin, former school vice president who was instrumental in building the original ice arena. The Goggin features two ice rinks. The "A Pad," used for main events, is known as Steve Cady Arena, and is home to the RedHawks hockey team and synchronized skating team. The "B Pad" is used for recreational skating. The building also hosts intramural hockey and broomball programs, Jr. RedHawks youth and Talawanda High School varsity hockey clubs, hockey camps, skating lessons, ice shows and other events.

Peabody Hall is a mixed-use academic and residential building located on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The original building, known as Seminary Hall, was built in 1855, and was the central building of Western College for Women. That building burned down in 1860 and was rebuilt the following year, only to become damaged by an 1871 fire. Rebuilt again that same year, the building was renamed Peabody Hall, after Helen Peabody the first head of Western College, in 1905. Peabody Hall is one of two residential buildings on Miami's Western Campus still used for their original purposes. It is one of 15 contributing buildings to the Western Female Seminary National Historic District.

Oxford station was a historic train station at South Elm and West Spring Streets in Oxford, Ohio. Oxford first received railroad service in the 1850s, when a line connecting the Chicago and Cincinnati rail networks was completed through the city. The original station was replaced by a larger building in 1895. Before the rise of the automobile, the station's passenger services brought students to and from Oxford's multiple colleges, including Miami University, and its freight services shipped local agricultural products to their markets. A building known as the Junction House, located across the street from the depot, was built in 1860 and is closely associated with the railroad. Originally a grocery store, it became a hotel and tavern in 1868; while a local temperance movement closed the tavern in the 1870s, it remained a hotel until 1905 and is now an apartment building.The station was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on February 8, 1980, as the Oxford Railroad Depot and Junction House. The depot has been demolished but the Junction House remains across the street from the vacant lot where the depot once stood.

A college town, Oxford was founded as a home for Miami University and lies in the southwestern portion of the state approximately 40 miles (64 km) northwest of Cincinnati and 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Dayton. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.
