Heslington Hall

Derwent College is a college of the University of York, and alongside Langwith College was one of the first two colleges to be opened following the university's inception. It is named after the local River Derwent. Both the original college building and the former Langwith college buildings are Grade II listed, making all of the current Derwent College premises Grade II listed.The college itself is next to Heslington Hall, and close to the gazebo and gardens known collectively as The Quiet Place.

The Charles XII, commonly referred to as The Charles, is a pub in Heslington, York.

Heslington Church is in the parish (and village) of Heslington, near York, England. As well as the village and some more modern housing estates, the church also serves some outlying farms. The Heslington campus of the University of York is also in the parish. It is a local ecumenical partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church, making it one of few joint Methodist/Anglican churches. It was formed from Saint Paul's Church, Heslington and Heslington Methodist Chapel in 1971, the name of the combined church being "Heslington Church", though some people still incorrectly refer to it as "St Paul's". The old Methodist Chapel is now the village meeting room.

The York Science Park opened in 1991 and currently houses over 400 companies. The main 21 acre site is adjacent to Alcuin College and contains the innovation centre and Biocentre with business focused on the tech and science industries.

Heslington is a suburban village and civil parish within the City of York district, in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England, south-east of the centre of York. Before 1974, it was a village in the Derwent Rural District, which was part of the East Riding of Yorkshire. From 1974 to 1996 it was part of the Selby district before becoming part of the new City of York unitary authority area.The University of York's Campus West, including Heslington Hall, are located in Heslington.

Alcuin College is a college of the University of York located on Siward's Howe in the English city of York in the county of Yorkshire. It is one out of eleven colleges of the university, being the nearest to the library on the Heslington West part of the campus.

Halifax College is the largest college of the University of York. It was founded in 2001 and is named after Edward Frederick Lindley Wood, the 1st Earl of Halifax.The college is linked between both main university campuses via the UB1 shuttle bus.The college is situated to the south of the main campus, next to the village of Heslington and the university sports fields. In 2006/07, Halifax College won the university's College Sport Championship; and successfully held onto the title in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons. They regained the title in the 2010/11 season.

The Vice-Chancellor's House is a house on Spring Lane in Heslington, York. It was originally built as on-site accommodation for the vice-chancellor of the University of York in 1964, close to the vice-chancellor's office in Heslington Hall.

The Spring Lane Building is located between the Barrick Saul building and Derwent College, in the centre of University of York's Campus West. The building was designed by Race Cottam, and provide teaching space as well as study spots.

The Heslington Hoard is a coin hoard found in York, England, dating from the mid-4th century AD. It consisted of approximately 2,800 coins held within a pottery container. It was acquired by the Yorkshire Museum.

The University of York (abbreviated as Ebor or York for post-nominals) is a collegiate research university in York, England. Established in 1963, the university has expanded to more than thirty departments and centres, covering a wide range of subjects. South-east of the city of York, the university campus is about 500 acres (200 hectares) in size. The original campus, Campus West, incorporates the York Science Park and the National Science Learning Centre, and its wildlife, campus lakes and greenery are prominent. In May 2007 the university was granted permission to build an extension to its main campus, on arable land just east of the nearby village of Heslington. The second campus, Campus East, opened in 2009 and now hosts five colleges and three departments as well as conference spaces, a sports village and a business start-up 'incubator'. The institution also leases King's Manor in York city centre. The university had a total income of £496.6 million in 2022–23 of which £96.8 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £497.0 million.York was one of the first of the plate glass universities established in the 1960s, and runs a distinctive collegiate system with 11 colleges as of 2022. The eleventh college, David Kato, opened in 2022. The university is one of the original plate glass universities, and is a member of regional research groups including the N8 Group and White Rose University Consortium as well as the national Russell Group.
