Mooresville is a town in Brown Township, Morgan County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 9,411.

Mooresville Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana. The district encompasses 35 contributing buildings and 1 contributing object in the central business district of Mooresville. It developed between about 1872 and 1952, and includes notable examples of Italianate, Gothic Revival, Classical Revival, Commercial Style, and Bungalow/American Craftsman style architecture. Notable buildings include the Farmer's State Bank, Nelson and Son Hardware, Mooresville Carnegie Library (1916), Carlisle and Gilbert Building (1895), Pure Oil Service Station, A.H. Scruggs Building, Mooresville Municipal Building, and Mooresville Methodist Episcopal Church complex.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Mooresville Friends Academy Building is a historic Quaker school building located at Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana. It was built in 1860–1861, and is a two-story, rectangular, Greek Revival style brick building with a low gable roof. It was built as a two-classroom school and later enlarged with an addition in 1867. It remained in use for educational purposes until 1971.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Mooresville Gymnasium, also known as the Newby Gymnasium, is a historic school gymnasium located at Mooresville, Morgan County, Indiana. It was built in 1921, and is a one-story, rectangular, Classical Revival style wood-frame building sheathed in "oriental brick". It measures 100 feet by 75 feet with a basketball floor of 70 feet by 45 feet.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Mooresville High School is a public high school located in Mooresville, Indiana. Mooresville was the first high school in central Indiana, built in 1861 as a subscription high school with students from as far away as Iowa boarding with local residents to attend school. The expense of operating the school was met by charging a tuition fee. In the first year, the school operated during a fall session at a cost of $11 and a spring session at a cost of $9. Beginning in the fall of 1862, the school held three sessions each year at a cost of $7.50 for each pupil enrolled for each session. Students who lived outside Mooresville boarded with local families at a cost of $1.50 to $2 per week. The community of Mooresville is located southwest of Indianapolis, Indiana. The school district includes the Town of Mooresville as well as Brown Township, Madison Township, and Harrison Township. As of the 2023-2024 school year, about 1,380 students attend Mooresville High School in grades 9-12.

The Goethe Link Observatory, observatory code 760, is an astronomical observatory near Brooklyn, Indiana, United States. It is owned by Indiana University and operated by the Indiana Astronomical Society https://iasindy.org/about.html, which efforts are dedicated to the pursuit of amateur astronomy. See https://iasindy.org/events.html, for dates and times. It is named in honor of amateur astronomer Dr. Goethe Link, an Indianapolis surgeon, who built it with his private funds. Construction of the observatory started in 1937, and the telescope was first operated in 1939. In 1948, he donated the observatory to Indiana University. From 1949 until 1966, the Indiana Asteroid Program was conducted at Goethe Link, using a 10-inch Cooke triplet astrograph (f/6.5). The program resulted in the discovery of 119 asteroids, which were credited by the Minor Planet Center to "Indiana University". When light pollution began to degrade the Goethe Link Observatory's capabilities in the 1960s, Indiana University built a new facility in the Morgan–Monroe State Forest officially designated as the Morgan–Monroe Station (MMS) of the Goethe Link Observatories. IU operated that facility through about 2014. Today, Indiana University primarily uses the WIYN 3.5-m and 0.9-m telescopes located at the Kitt Peak National Observatory near Tucson, AZ for ongoing research. The naming of the two main-belt asteroids, 1602 Indiana and 1728 Goethe Link – both discovered at Goethe Link Observatory in 1950 and 1964, respectively – is related to the Observatory and its parent institution.

Joel Jessup Farm is a historic home and farm located in Guilford Township, Hendricks County, Indiana. The farmhouse was built about 1864, and is a two-story, Italianate style brick I-house with a rear kitchen ell. It has a slate gable roof, round arched windows, and multiple brick chimneys. Also on the property are the contributing traverse frame barn and privy.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
