Ranger Lake

Gardenview Horticultural Park (16 acres) is a nonprofit botanical garden and arboretum located at 16711 Pearl Road, Strongsville, Ohio. It is open weekend afternoons to non-members; an admission fee is charged. The park was begun in 1949 by horticulturist Henry Ross (deceased 1/11/2014) on a private lot filled with blackberry brambles and weeds atop blue and yellow clay. In his extensive work on the garden, Ross has introduced dozens of cultivars including the white-leafed Ajuga 'Arctic Fox' and the mildew-resistant Monarda 'Gardenview Scarlet'. He opened the garden for public viewing in 1961. The park now includes 6 acres (24,000 m2) of English Cottage Gardens (emphasizing plants with variegated, golden, silver, or colored foliage) and a 10-acre (40,000 m2) arboretum. The arboretum contains some 2,500 unusual trees, including 500 varieties of flowering crabapples underplanted with daffodils. The garden also features azaleas, 1,500 tuberous rooted begonias, thousands of tulips, a cactus collection, and two ponds.

Strongsville is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States, and a suburb of Cleveland. As of the 2020 census, its population was 46,491. The city's nickname, Crossroads of the Nation, originated from the intersection between the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and Southwestern Electric Line that connected Cleveland and Wooster, Ohio. As the railroad line ceased operation in 1931, the motto and city seal have been adapted to reflect the modern-day intersection of Interstate 71 and the Ohio Turnpike.

Polaris Career Center is a public career-technical school in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. It works in conjunction with the 11th and 12th grade students from the Berea, Brooklyn, Fairview Park, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, and Strongsville school districts. Polaris Career Center offers an opportunity that combines career training, academics and employability skills. Students can enter the job market after graduation or continue their education at a two-year or four-year college. Polaris opened in 1975 and is situated on 47 acres. Polaris completed a $57 million renovation of its entire Middleburg Heights campus in 2019. Polaris serves approximately 825 high school students at its Middleburg Heights campus and over 3,000 high school and middle school students at its satellite locations, as well as nearly 4,500 adults in open enrollment classes and Job & Career Training Programs.The Polaris district newsletter, the COMPASS, is published once a year and contains articles about programs, services, and student accomplishments in the high school, satellite and adult education departments. Polaris also publishes a monthly district e-newsletter, the 411.

SouthPark Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in Strongsville, Ohio a Greater Cleveland suburb. Its anchor stores are Dick's Sporting Goods, Dillard's, JCPenney, Macy's, and a 14-Screen Cinemark Movie Theater. Kohl's is also an anchor, though located on the outskirts of the plaza. Being one of the largest shopping centers in Ohio at 1,677,272 square feet (155,823.7 m2), SouthPark Mall is also ranked as one of the largest shopping malls in the United States. The mall features over 170 specialty shops, restaurants, and is the largest retail destination in Northern Ohio.

The John Wheeler House, also known as The Little Hermitage of Berea, was home to John Wheeler, an American educator and the first president of Baldwin University in Berea, Ohio. Baldwin College eventually merged with nearby German Wallace College to become Baldwin Wallace University. Wheeler also has a building named after him on the Baldwin Wallace University campus. Wheeler's home, built in 1834, is the oldest continuously occupied residence in Berea, Ohio.The property was coined The Little Hermitage in a nod to Andrew Jackson’s estate near Nashville. Designated a century home by the Berea Historical Society, The Wheeler House has been restored by its current owners yet retains its original character and charm. The home is a modern classic and will celebrate its bicentennial in 2034. The Wheeler House is Italianate architecture and boasts original wood floors, crown moldings, windows, stained glass, two staircases, and hardware. The front porch, with dual swings, opens to the south lawn with its original stone walkway and two mounting blocks. There are also two expansive verandas overlooking the north, east, and west lawns. The home comprises 3,654 square feet (339.5 m2) of living space on three levels with a foyer, living room, formal dining room, kitchen, library, five bedrooms, three bathrooms, mud room, laundry room, and a home gym in the large, finished cellarage. The kitchen is a Clive Christian original and features two sinks, two islands, a table that faces a working fireplace, a bay window, and French doors that lead out to the back tree-shaded veranda. The property sits on 1.4 acres (0.57 ha) of land and features some of the oldest trees in Cuyahoga County. At the end of the driveway is a carriage house that has been converted into a two-car garage and studio with a brick patio that overlooks a ravine, creek, and waterfall. The home and grounds are surrounded to the north and south by Mill Stream Run Reservation, part of the Cleveland Metroparks system. The John Wheeler House was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Its current owners, Dr. Scott J. Latiolais and Joel M. Latiolais, acquired the home in 2022.

Middleburg Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. It is a suburb about 11 miles (18 km) southwest of downtown Cleveland. The population was 16,004 at the 2020 census.

Southwest General Health Center is a 354-bed hospital located in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. It is partnered with University Hospitals of Cleveland. Southwest General Health Center is certified as a Level III Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center.

Buehl House, also known as Dr. John Clark House, in Berea, Ohio, was built in 1859. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.The Berea Historical Society operates the Mahler Museum & History Center in the house.

Strongsville High School is a public high school located in Strongsville, Ohio, United States. The current principal is Bill Wingler. The school colors are forest green and white. The mascot is the Mustang. The school was a member of the Pioneer Conference but moved to the Northeast Ohio Conference at the conclusion of the 2006–07 school year. The fight song is to the tune of "On Wisconsin".

The Baldwin Wallace University South Campus Historic District is an area of land on the south end of the Baldwin Wallace University campus. When the district was established, the school was Baldwin-Wallace College. BW is a four-year private, coeducation, liberal arts college in Berea, Ohio, United States. The school was founded in 1845 as Baldwin Institute by Methodists settlers. Eventually the school merged with nearby German Wallace College in 1913 to become Baldwin-Wallace College, which adopted the present name in 2012. Several buildings since its founding have been established on the National Register of Historic Places, establishing this area as the Baldwin Wallace University South Campus Historic District.

The Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music is part of the Baldwin Wallace University, in Berea, Ohio. The main building is Kulas Hall. The Conservatory is home to the Baldwin Wallace Bach Festival, the oldest collegiate Bach Festival in the United States. The Music Theatre program, directed by Victoria Bussert, draws hundreds of auditioners each year. The instrumental programs have produced musicians; several BW alumni presently play with the Cleveland Orchestra.

Baldwin Wallace University (BW) is a private university in Berea, Ohio. Established in 1845 as Baldwin Institute by Methodist businessman John Baldwin, it merged with nearby German Wallace College in 1913 to become Baldwin-Wallace College. BW has two campus sites: Berea, which serves as the main campus, and BW at Corporate College East in Warrensville Heights. In Fall 2022, BW enrolled 2,592 full-time undergraduate students, and 527 graduate students. Baldwin Wallace's athletic teams compete as members of NCAA Division III athletics in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
