Gokarneshwor Mahadev temple

Gokarneshwor is a municipality in Kathmandu District in the Bagmati Province of Nepal that was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the former Village development committees Sundarijal, Nayapati, Baluwa, Jorpati and Gokarna. The office of the municipality is that of the former Jorpati village development committee. The river Bagmati has its origin as the name Bagh Dwar situated in the middle of the Shivapuri jungle in this municipality. In the village on the banks of the Bagmati River stands the Gokarna Mahadev temple, built in 1582. In late August or early September people go to this temple to bathe and make offerings in honor of their fathers, living or dead, on a day called Gokarna Aunsi.The Gokarna Forest Reserve is located in the area. Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital is located Southwest of Gokarneshwor.

Kapan is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Budanilkantha Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. It is situated in the northern part of Kathmandu. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 48,463 in 12,324 households. Kapan Sangit Sarowar (a platform for musicians), Kapan Monastery (Buddhist temple), Kapan Aani Gumba (Ladies Monks' Monastery) etc. are tourist places situated at Kapan. Kapan consists of several settlements, e. g.: Mahankal, New Colony, Jyotinagar, Saraswatinagar, Golphutar or Baluwakhani. Kapan has recently developed very high number of Paying Guest Houses for local-tourism.

The International Buddhist Academy (IBA) is an academy of Buddhist philosophy situated in the Boudha area of Kathmandu, Nepal. The academy was founded in 2001 by the Venerable Khenchen Appey Rinpoche in order to preserve, study and translate primarily Tibetan Buddhist texts. The academy is home to a number of monks and nuns, and can accommodate students who come from around the world for the summer courses. Khenpo Ngawang Jorden is the director. IBA is also home to the Chodung Karmo Translation Group which aims to translate texts from the Abhidharma, Prajnaparamita, Madhyamaka, Pramana, Yogacara, and Three Vows collections.

Jorpati is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Gokarneshwar Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the 2011 census it had a population of 84,567 making it one of the largest villages in the world. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 10,796 and had 1,988 households in it.In the year 2016 Jorpati has become Municipality from VDC with the population of more than 500,000. Jorpati is the gateway for Sundarijaal and Sakhu.

The Mulpani International Cricket Ground, Commonly known as Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground or simply Mulpani Ground (Nepali: माथिल्लाे मुलपानी अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय क्रिकेट मैदान) is a cricket ground in Mulpani, Kathmandu, Nepal.

Chunikhel is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Budanilkantha Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 4,449 living in 859 households. Chunikhel it has 15 VDC in total. It is located in 27°45'31.1"N 85°22'17.0"E just few kilometre away from heart of kathmandu. Chunikhel is gate for entering Shivapuri National park.

Kopan Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery near Boudhanath, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal. It is a member of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), an international network of Gelugpa dharma centers, and once served as its headquarters. The monastery was established by the FPMT's founders, Lamas Thubten Yeshe and Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, who bought the property from Nepal's royal astrologer in 1969. Its name comes from the name of the hill on which it was built. Kopan has become especially famous for teaching Buddhism to visiting Western foreigners. The first of what would become annual month-long (November–December) meditation courses was held in 1971. These courses generally combine traditional Lam Rim teachings with informal discussion, several periods of guided meditation, and a vegetarian diet. Kopan now encompasses two separate institutions: the monastery, atop Kopan Hill, and the nearby Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nunnery (known as the Kopan Nunnery). The nunnery was established in 1979 by Lama Yeshe to provide spiritual and practical education modeled on that received by the monks. In 2009 the nunnery began raising money to expand its housing and education capacity, which has grown from 4 to 400 in less than 35 years, using such sites as GoFundMe. Kopan Monastery has also recently become a popular recreational destination for Kathmandu residents and tourists. On Saturdays it regularly receives hundreds of visitors from 10 AM to 4 PM. The monastery is not open to the public on other days of the week.

Danchhi is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Kageshwari-Manohara Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census, it had a population of 11,246 and had 2,593 households in it. Danchhi is now included in Kageswori Manohara Municipality. Danchhi/Thali is bounded by Bagmati and Manohara river. The major places include Thali/थली, Nayapati, Bhadrawas, Hariyalinagar, Dumakhal, and Gajarkot. The major government schools are Shree Sahid Aadarsha Uchha MaVi, Shree Kanti Bhairab MaVi, and Shree Chaulanarayan PraVi. Private schools include Miniland English High School, Mount Everest Secondary School, Pragya Sadan School, Alpine Academy, and Hindu Vidhya Peeth.In recent local election Krishna Hari Thapa was elected as the Mayor of the Municipality. He garnered 8,969 votes. He edged Nepali Congress’ Upendra Karki by 482 vote margin. Likwise, UML Bindu Simkhada was elected to the pose to deputy mayor of the same municipality. She received 9,182 votes. Meanwhile, UML clinched victory in ward number 1, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 while Nepali Congress won in ward numbers 2, 4 and 7 in the municipality. Kathmandu valley outer ringroad will pass through this place.

Kageshwori-Manohara is a municipality in Kathmandu District in the Bagmati Province of Nepal that was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the former Village development committees of Aalapot, Bhadrabas, Danchhi, Gagalphedi, Gothatar and Mulpani. The office of the municipality is in Thali Danchhi in Ward No. 5.

Mulpani Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Mulpani, Kathmandu, Nepal. There are 2 grounds including upper and lower ground. Upper Ground is handled by Cricket Association of Nepal and developed as a training ground. It has limited seating area for fans in eastern area of the ground. The upper ground has already hosted several national and international level tournaments whereas the lower ground is under construction.

Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery near Boudhanath, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, Nepal. It has ties to both the Kagyu and Nyingma schools, hence the combined Ka-Nying in the name. Shedrub Ling means “sanctuary for learning and practice.”
