Pickens House

The Chancellor James P. Carroll House, located in Aiken, South Carolina, was built in 1855 by James Parsons Carroll, Chancellor of South Carolina. Mr. Carroll was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives in 1838, later served in the South Carolina Senate, and in 1859, was elected Chancellor of the Court of Equity. Carroll also served as a delegate to the Secession Convention and signed the Ordinance of Secession. The landmark was listed in the National Register of Historic Places November 23, 1977.

Aiken Regional Medical Centers is located in Aiken, South Carolina on University Parkway near the University of South Carolina Aiken. Aiken Regional Medical Centers opened its doors in 1917 as the Aiken Hospital and Relief Society. Except for several years in the early 1920s, the hospital has provided quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Today, it is a 273-bed acute care facility.

The University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken or USCA) is a public university in Aiken, South Carolina. It is part of the University of South Carolina System and offers undergraduate degree programs as well as master's degrees. Additional graduate courses and degree programs are offered through the University of South Carolina Extended Graduate Campus program. The University of South Carolina Aiken awards baccalaureate degrees in more than 30 major areas of study including the bachelor of science in business administration online through Palmetto College.

Roberto Hernandez Stadium is a former minor league and current collegiate baseball stadium, located in Aiken, South Carolina. It is currently the home of the USC Aiken Pacers. Built in 2003, the stadium was named after USC Aiken alumnus and former major league pitcher, Roberto Hernández. The stadium has a capacity of 1,000 and has a fully operational concession stand. The stadium also has a dedicated Hall of Fame to Hernandez, which contains several items of baseball memorabilia and awards belonging to him. The stadium was briefly the home of the Aiken Foxhounds, of the South Coast League in 2007. The Foxhounds folded after the league went into bankruptcy and never returned.

Aiken Winter Colony Historic District I, is located in Aiken, South Carolina, It is noteworthy in that it is viewed as the district most closely identified with the history of the Aiken Winter Colony. The area features over 30 properties, many of which are large impressive mansions with stables. Most of the properties were constructed between 1882 and 1948. It is possible to enjoy the district via “from the street,” but note that many of the properties and mansions are either fenced, or otherwise protected by shrubs and stately trees. Aiken Winter Colony Historic District I was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on November 27, 1984.

Aiken Winter Colony Historic District III, located in Aiken, South Carolina. It has 42 properties, most of which were seasonal residences. The pleasing district varies from small cottages to large estates. Architectural styles include Queen Anne, Victorian, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival, among others. The district also includes the Aiken Preparatory School. Aiken Winter Colony Historic District III was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on November 27, 1984.

Mead Hall Episcopal School is a private, 3K–12 coeducational college preparatory school located over two campuses in Aiken, South Carolina. Previously covering grades 3K–8, the school expanded to cover high school grades when they acquired Aiken Preparatory School during the summer of 2012.

St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church is parish of the Episcopal Church in Aiken, South Carolina. It is noted for its historic church at Pendleton and Richland Streets.Aiken is a planned community, and land for the church had been set aside in the original plan by the South Carolina Canal and Railroad Company. The cornerstone for the original church was laid September 5, 1842. This building was subsequently renovated and expanded over the years, and additional buildings added to the campus. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Phelps House (or Rose Hill Estate), is located in Aiken, South Carolina. The house was built in the early 1900s on the foundations of an antebellum house that had been destroyed during the Civil War. It is historically significant for several reasons, one of which is its very distinctive Shingle Style. This style, used often in the late 1800s and early 1900s in the resort homes of the rich, was rarely used in South Carolina. The large house has over 20 rooms, and the grounds include the stables, garage, greenhouses and kennels. As of 2012, the home is available for commercial purposes and due to this use, can be readily viewed and enjoyed. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on June 10, 1974.Today, the property is open to the public with amenities that include Overnight Accommodations, Event Venue Facilities, Catering and The Stables Restaurant.

The Legare-Morgan House is a one-story clapboard structure built in Aiken, South Carolina around 1835. From 1850 to 1859 it was the home of the artist, poet and inventor, James Mathews Legare. In 1870 the property was sold to Thomas C. Morgan. The home, located in proximity to Aiken's downtown area, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places September 22, 1977.

Aiken Colored Cemetery, a historic cemetery in Aiken, South Carolina, US, covers nearly 10 acres and is located several miles from the downtown area. It was the only burial grounds for Aiken's African-American community through the mid 20th century.The cemetery began operating in 1852, well before the Civil War era. Its occupants represent a diverse range including slaves, freedmen, business leaders, tradesmen, and paupers. The cemetery is now called Pine Lawn Memorial Gardens and is accessible to the public. Aiken Colored Cemetery was listed in the National Historic Register on March 19, 2007.

Coker Spring is a fresh water spring located on Coker Spring Road in Aiken, South Carolina. This spring is formed by a "junction" where the water table intersects the ground surface and according to archaeological remains, has been used since prehistoric times. Coker Springs was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on January 18, 1978.
