The Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Neves (Church of Our Lady of the Snows) is a historical Catholic church in Rachol village, Salcete sub-district, on the southern banks of the Zuari river, in the South Goa district of Goa state, India. The church was built in the 1560's during the Goa Inquisition. It is situated in close proximity to the renowned Rachol Seminary. There is a church of the same name in the neighbouring village of Raia.

Rachol (also known as Raitura) is a prominent village in the Salcete taluka (subdistrict) of South Goa district, Goa state, peninsular India. It is located on the left bank of the Zuari River and is home to the famous Rachol Seminary. The famous Portuguese colonial Rachol Fort has been completely erased, leaving behind the traces of the moat and the main gate. Ilha de Rachol ('Island of Rachol') is a part of the village.

The name "Igorchem Bandh" is fittingly derived from its location behind the Church of Our Lady of Snows. This particular road has gained notoriety as a place where numerous individuals have reportedly experienced unusual occurrences. The path area has gained notoriety due to a plethora of eerie haunting accounts. Witnesses have reported instances where individuals, shortly after experiencing possession, have met with bizarre and untimely deaths. Local residents have also attested to hearing inexplicable footsteps and the unsettling sound of heavy breathing emanating from the vicinity of trees and bushes, contributing to the pervasive ghostly ambiance of the location.

Big Foot Museum is a museum and a theme park based in the South Goa, India, village of Loutolim in the sub-district (or taluka) of Salcete. It is a museum dedicated to rural Goan life. It was founded and is run by the artist Maendra Alvares. Loutolim is close to Margao.

Borim or Bori is a census town in Ponda taluka, North Goa district in the state of Goa, India on the banks of Zuari River. It has a land area of 1536.07 acres and has a population of 8,257. The village has a rich history dating back to the 12th century Kadamba era, when the Kamleshwar temple was built at Deulwada by the Kadamba queen, Kamaladevi. The name Bori is etymologically derived from the word Bora (Indian berry, zizyphus). It is said that the village had many Indian berry or "Bor" trees at some point. Badrigram, a Sanskrit version of the village name, also alludes to the Indian berries, known as Badri in Sanskrit.

Curtorim, a verdant agrarian village, known as the "granary of Salcete", is said to have got its name from either kuddtari or kuddtoddi since the agricultural village had kudds (rooms) built on the river bank (toddir) to store kharif and rabi crops.
