Tribhuvan International Airport

US-Bangla Airlines Flight 211 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Dhaka, Bangladesh, to Kathmandu, Nepal, that crashed on 12 March 2018 while landing, killing 51 of the 71 people aboard. The aircraft, a 76-seat Bombardier Q400 operated by US-Bangla Airlines, burst into flames after the crash, and the 20 surviving passengers were seriously injured from the impact and the fire. At the time of the accident, it was the deadliest aviation disaster involving a Bangladeshi airline, and the deadliest incident involving the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400.A commission appointed by the government of Nepal investigated the accident and issued a report that concluded that the probable cause of the crash was pilot disorientation and a loss of situational awareness on the part of the flight crew. The report was criticized by the airline and by the Bangladeshi representative to the commission, who felt that the air traffic controllers at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu had not done their job properly and could have prevented the accident.

On 24 July 2024, a Bombardier CRJ200LR operated by Saurya Airlines crashed shortly after takeoff from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, killing 18 out of the 19 people on board. The aircraft was operating a ferry flight to Pokhara to conduct a maintenance check and was carrying three crew members and sixteen passengers, mostly consisting of Saurya employees. During takeoff, the aircraft rapidly rolled both left and right before losing altitude. The right wing collided with the ground to the side of the runway and the aircraft was destroyed by the impact and post-crash fire. The captain was the sole survivor of the crash. The investigation, conducted by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission, determined that the aircraft rotated at an airspeed lower than optimal and the flight crew commanded an abnormally high pitch rate. The result was a deep stall during takeoff that was unrecoverable due to the aircraft's low altitude. Several other contributing factors were also noted by investigators. The V-speeds the crew used were based off an erroneous speedcard that displayed incorrect values. Multiple events at Saurya Airlines involving high pitch rates during takeoff were left unidentified and unaddressed. The loading process of the cargo was negligent; operational and ground handling manuals were violated and the load was not secured. Saurya Airlines suspended all flights following the crash.

Aircraft Museum Kathmandu is an aviation museum located in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, Nepal. The museum is inside an Airbus A330-300 of Turkish Airlines that only flew for about eight months before suffering a runway excursion at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu in March 2015. It was established under a joint initiative by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and pilot Bed Upreti and his trust. This museum was officially opened to public on 28 November, 2017. The museum's exhibits include the aircraft's original cockpit setting, model and miniature aircraft and items documenting the history of Nepalese aviation. The museum is the second of its kind in Nepal, after Bed Upreti had already set up a similar, yet smaller aviation museum, the Aircraft Museum Dhangadhi in Dhangadhi in Western Nepal. The museum cost around NPRs 70 million.

The first golf course in Nepal was the Gauchar Golf Course, in Gaucharan, established by General Kiran Shumsher in 1917, after observing the sport in Scotland. This first course was in Nepal 'browns', i.e. greens consisted of sand mixed with oil. King Tribhuvan Shah and his son Prince Basundhara Shah also played golf.When the adjacent airfield was expanded, the golf course had to be shortened. On September 5, 1965, the club received the designation 'Royal' (patronage) by King Mahendra, the son of Tribhuvan, and the club was named "The Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC)" and Prince Basundra became the second president of the club. The founder members of the RNGC were the then S.P. Khadgajeet Baral (Retd. IGP), the then tennis champion Hem Lama, etc. The members were mostly foreigners and members of the Shah and Rana families. When the airport was expanded again in 1982, the golf course was remodeled.In 1983, the Royal Nepal Golf Course was awarded another ground. They started with the construction of six par-3 holes. A year later two par-3 holes and a par-4 hole with. In 1986, she gained more ground so there finally came a full 9-hole course. In the year 1989, all the greens were modernized with the use of bermuda grass by the then President of RNGC, Khadgajeet Baral.The club has a very challenging 9-hole golf course which organizes over 26 golf tournaments annually, and had held the first ever Nepal Open Golf tournament for professionals of the region for 6 years. All the professionals described the course as "highly challenging but fair golf course with a fantastic view of the Himalayas".

Sinamangal (Nepali: सिनामंगल) (also Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 09) is a residential area of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, on the banks of Bagmati River. It borders Baneshwor and Gaucharan. Tribhuvan International Airport located in Sinamangal divides Eastern side Purano Sinamangal, Pepsicola from Western side Sinamangal both belonging to Kathmandu Metropolitan City. One of the residential area of Kathmandu, Pepsicola Town planning is located in Purano Sinamangal.

Purano Sinamangal or Pepsicola is a residential and commercial area in the eastern part of Kathmandu, Nepal. It falls under both the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and some parts of Kageshwori Manohara Ward 9. It encompasses 130 hectares and is bounded by the Manohara river in the south east, and share borders with Gothatar in the north, Madhyapur Thimi municipality of Bhaktapur District in south east.

Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, formerly called the Tilganga Eye Centre, in Nepal is the implementing body of the Nepal Eye Program, a non-profit, community based, non-government organization launched in 1992. It was founded in part by renowned ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon Sanduk Ruit. The current facility was opened in 1994. The World Health Organization recognized Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology as a WHO Collaboration Centre of Ophthalmology in 2019. In Nepal, it is the second institute, and first institute in the field of ophthalmology to receive this designation. It provides various sub speciality services of Ophthalmology such as Cornea, Cataract & IOL, Glaucoma, Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Ocular Oncology services, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus services, Vitreo-Retina, Uvea, Neuro ophthalmology and Optometry services.

Guhyeshwari Temple (Nepali: गुह्येश्वरी मन्दिर), also spelled Guheswari or Guhjeshwari, is one of the revered holy temples in Kathmandu, Nepal. This temple is dedicated to Guhyeshwari or Adi Shakti. The temple is also a Shakti Peetha and it's about 1 km east of Pashupatinath Temple and is located on the southern bank of the Bagmati River. It is said that this temple is the Shakti chair of Pashupatinath Temple. It is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus, especially for Tantric worshipers. King Pratap Malla renovated this temple in the 17th century. The goddess is also called Guhyekali. The temple's name originates from the Sanskrit words Guhya (secret, hidden, or cave) and Ishwari (goddess). Literally, the name "Guhyeshwari" stands for the goddess of the cave (गुफाको ईश्वरी) and the origin of the name aligns with the Hindu legend of Sati, her self-immolation when She turns into Adishakti, the Goddess of cosmic energy, at Daksha yagna. In Lalitha Sahasranama the 707th name of the Goddess is mentioned as Guhyarupini (The uncanny form of Goddess intimates that She is beyond human perception, and the invisible location where She resides allows Her to render justice impartially. Another belief is that it is the secret 16th syllable of the Shodashi Mantra) (LS 137th verse: Sarasvati shastramayi| Guhaamba guhyaruupini||). The main stotras dedicated to goddess are: Guhya Kali Sahasranama Stotra, Guhyakali Gadya Sanjeevana Stotram Guhyakali Mahavajra Kavacha StotramIt is one of the best place nearly to pashupatinath.

Manibandh Shaktipeeth also known as Manivedika Shaktipeeth or Rajarajeshwari Puruhuta Manivedic Shaktipeeth, is one of the 51 sacred Shaktipeeths in Hinduism. It is located in Pushkar, Rajasthan, near Ajmer, India. The temple is believed to mark the site where Goddess Sati's wrists (Manibandh) fell, as described in Hindu mythology. The temple is also known locally as Chamunda Mata Mandir and holds significant religious importance.

Koteshwor is a place, located in Kathmandu District. In 1991, Kathmandu Metropolitan City was expanded by incorporating Koteshwor as Ward No. 32 (previously 35). It encompasses 395 hectares and is bounded by the Manohara river in the east and south, the Bagmati river in the west, and share borders with Gothatar in the north, Madhyapur Thimi municipality of Bhaktapur District in east and Lalitpur metropolitan city in the south. With respect to basic services, almost all homes in the ward have access to electricity, but the same cannot be said about drinking water. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 5,787 living in 1,154 households. The ward contains 8,716 households. The population in 2001 was 35,184.

Sita Air Flight 601 (ST601/STA601) was a Nepalese domestic passenger flight, operated by Sita Air from Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal's capital Kathmandu to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla. On 28 September 2012, the Dornier 228 serving the route crashed while attempting an emergency landing at Kathmandu shortly after takeoff, killing all 19 people on board. The final report, published by the Nepal's Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission (NAICC), determined that a thrust reduction occurred during the take-off roll, but the cause of the anomaly could not be determined. Subsequent crew inability to maintain speed above stall speed, followed by the insufficient height of the aircraft, led to the aircraft crashing.

Pashupatinath Temple (Nepali: श्री पशुपतिनाथ मन्दिर) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Pashupati, and is located in Kathmandu, Nepal near the Bagmati River. This is currently the largest temple in the world as well as one of the Oldest Temple.This temple was classified as a World Heritage Site in 1979. This "extensive Hindu temple precinct" is a "sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions raised over the centuries along the banks of the sacred Bagmati river", and is one of seven monument groups in UNESCO's designation of Kathmandu Valley. It is built on an area of 246 hectares (2,460,000 m2) and includes 518 mini-temples and a main pagoda house. The temple is one of the Paadal Petra Sthalams on the continent.
