Balli Railway Station (Station code: BLLI) is a smaller railway station in Goa, under the jurisdiction of Konkan Railway. It lies is in Balli (also referred to as Bali) village off the highway connecting Chandor to Canacona.

It is famous for its fishing jetty known as the Cutbona fishing jetty, which is South Goa's largest fishing hub, where over 300 trawlers operate. It is also a part of the Velim Assembly constituency.

Ambelim (Konkani: Ambelle) is a large village that's located within the Salcete taluka and falls under the South Goa district. It shares its border with Velim and Assolna villages. The village has a predominant population from the fishing and scheduled tribe communities and has a population of about 3500 residents in seven wards.

The Cuncolim Massacre or Cuncolim Revolt was an incident that involved the massacre and mutilation of Christian priests and civilians by Hindu chieftains in the Portuguese Goa village of Cuncolim on Monday, 15 July 1583. Five Jesuit priests along with one Portuguese civilian and 14 Goan Catholics were killed in the incident. The local Portuguese garrison retaliated by executing the village chieftains involved, and destroying the economic infrastructure of Cuncolim.
