Rosemary Hall (North Augusta, South Carolina)

The Meriwether Monument is a pillar erected in 1916 at John C. Calhoun Park in North Augusta, South Carolina, to commemorate Thomas McKie Meriwether (December 4, 1852 – July 8, 1876), the only white man killed in the Hamburg massacre when white supremacist militias attacked African Americans in coordinated political violence, seeking to restore the Democratic Party to power and disenfranchise African American voters. The massacre occurred in 1876 and was part of a violent political campaign at the end of the Reconstruction era. The monument was erected 40 years later during the Jim Crow era. Protests at the monument were organized in 2020 after the murder of George Floyd as part of Black Lives Matter activism.Alterations to the park including interpretive panels have been proposed. One of Meriwether's descendants has called for the monument to be taken down.An inscription on the marker states: "In life he exemplified the highest ideal of Anglo-Saxon civilization. By his death he assured to the children of his beloved land the supremacy of that ideal."John C. Calhoun was a politician from South Carolina who served as vice-president of the United States. He was an adamant defender of slavery.

Lookaway Hall, built from 1895 to 1898, is a North Augusta, South Carolina landmark. A number of architectural details are significant, for the home was built in the Beaux Arts and Revival styles, made popular after the World's Columbian Exposition. This accessible landmark, near the historic Georgia Avenue-Butler Avenue Historic District, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on August 13, 1992.

The B.C. Wall House, also known as the “Sesame Lodge,” is located at North Augusta, Aiken County, South Carolina. It was constructed in 1902 by Budd Clay Wall (the mayor of North Augusta at the time) to serve as an overflow guest home from the Hampton Terrace Hotel. The home holds additional significance in that it was designed by a female architect, Wall's daughter, Martha Louise Wall Andrews. The house, which is very visible from the public street, contains elements of the Queen Anne, Classical Revival, and Bungalow Styles. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 27, 1992.

SRP Park is a baseball park in North Augusta, South Carolina, which is part of the Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area. It is the home of the Augusta GreenJackets, a Minor League Baseball team playing in the Single-A Carolina League. It opened on April 12, 2018, and can seat 4,782 people. SRP Park replaced Lake Olmstead Stadium as the home of the GreenJackets. SRP Park is part of the Riverside Village at Hammond's Ferry, which overlooks the Savannah River and the city of Augusta, featuring 280 apartments, over 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2) square feet of office space, a Crowne Plaza hotel, and multiple shops, restaurants, and bars.

The city is included in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) and is part of the Augusta, Georgia, metropolitan area.

Springfield Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Augusta, Georgia was built in 1801 and is a significant historical building for its architecture, religious history, and African American heritage. It is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA. It was built in the architectural style of a New England meetinghouse, which is rare in Georgia. It is the oldest church building extant in Augusta and is claimed to be one of the oldest Black congregations in the U.S. The 1801, Springfield Baptist Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Richmond County, Georgia in 1982, and the boundary of the National Register of Historic Places-listed site was increased in 1990.

Curtis Baptist School (CBS) is a private 1-A Christian high school located in Augusta, Georgia, United States. It is a private school that has more than 300 students in the elementary, middle, and high school combined. The school colors are red and white and the school mascot is "Curtis the Crusader."

The Sacred Heart Cultural Center, known also as Sacred Heart Catholic Church, is an events center and a former Catholic parish church located in Augusta, Georgia.

Augusta Cotton Exchange Building is a historic building in Augusta, Georgia. It was designed by Enoch William Brown and built in the mid-1880s during a cotton boom. The structure includes ornate details and ironwork and is considered High Victorian architecture. Materials for its construction were supplied locally by Charles F. Lombard's foundry. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 20, 1978. It is located on Reynolds Street. The exchange was organized for the cotton trade. It housed brokers and a trading floor. Women were excluded and off hours cockfights and Saturday football meetups took place.The building is part of the Augusta Downtown Historic District and Augusta Canal National Monument Heritage Area. Bill Moore of Aiken, South Carolina purchased and restored the building in 1988. The building has been used by the Augusta Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau as a Welcome Center and is now a branch of South State Bank.

The Richmond County School System is an American public school system based in Augusta, Georgia. It is run by the Richmond County Board of Education which, under Article VIII, § V, Paragraph 2, requires that each school system be under the management and control of an elected board of education. As elected Constitutional officials of Georgia, the school board members are responsible for setting educational policies, employing school personnel, providing buildings and equipment, operating a transportation system, and disbursing school funds. The board of education meets in the Richmond County Board of Education building at 864 Broad Street in Augusta, Georgia. It serves consolidated Augusta-Richmond County, Georgia and the south Richmond County cities of Hephzibah and Blythe. The system has an enrollment of around 32,000 students, attending 36 elementary schools, ten middle schools, eight high schools, four magnet schools, and three other schools. The school board has its own police department which provides law enforcement services to all the district's schools.The Richmond County School System is in the third phase of a construction program that will renovate older schools and add new schools, particularly for its magnet program. This will include a fine arts elementary magnet school, a vocational magnet school, and second magnet traditional elementary school.On the most recent state-mandated testing of the academic achievement as well as college- and career-readiness of its students (2019 Georgia Milestones Assessment System-GMAS), the Richmond County School System was ranked among the bottom-ten of the 180 public school systems in Georgia.

The Imperial Theatre is an 853-seat theater located in downtown Augusta, Georgia, United States. The theater opened on February 18, 1918. It is named after the Imperial Theatre in New York City.

The Lamar Building is a 17-story skyscraper in Augusta, Georgia. It was scheduled to be completed in 1916, but the Augusta Fire of 1916 forced crews to demolish the building and restart. It was finally completed in 1918. A penthouse level was added in 1976, designed by I. M. Pei. In July 2011, the architectural critic James Howard Kunstler labeled it his "Eyesore of the Month", saying the addition is reminiscent of a Darth Vader helmet.Pei's addition presaged the glass pyramid he designed for The Louvre in Paris.The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Fire insurance maps indicate a height of 165' (50 m) to the top of the roof at the 16th floor, just beneath the penthouse addition. It has been the tallest building in Augusta ever since it was built. The Marion Building stands next to the Lamar Building and has been called its "sister building".The Lamar Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
