Chaughare

Konjyosom Rural Municipality is a Rural Municipality in Lalitpur District in Bagmati Province of Nepal that was established in 2017 by merging the former Village development committees Sankhu, Dalchoki, Chaughare, Nallu and Bhardev.The center of this rural municipality is located at Chaughare. The major ethnic group of this rural municipality are Tamang. The name Konjyosom itself means Gautama Buddha in Tamang language.

Nallu is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Konjyosom Rural Municipality in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 1849 living in 320 individual households. Most of the people here are from Tamang Cast. According to the report taken 96.7% people are Tamang.

Dalchoki(Nepali: दलचोकी) is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Konjyosom Rural Municipality in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. It is situated on the southern part of Lalitpur district, nearly 23 Kilometers from Patan, its district headquarters. This hilly region ranges from 1200 to 2300 meters from the sea level. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 1,066 in 193 individual households.There have been many myths related to the naming of Dalchoki. Some believe there were 3 goddesses Phulchoki, Dalchoki and Sanchoki respectively and the name Dalchoki was given following the residing of goddess Dalchoki in this place. Dalchoki has a temple dedicated to Dalchoki devi.According to another myth, Dalchoki was said to be a point from where Prithivi Narayan Shah attacked Kathmandu. The troop (troop is called Dal in Nepali) resided here and had a check-post (Check-post is called Chowki) due to which the current name Dalchoki emerged. However there is not enough evidence to support this.

Lele is a village development committee in Lalitpur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 6928 living in 1245 individual households, but the population has increased greatly since then.Lele is 14 km (1 hour by bus and about 30 minutes by bike) from Lagankhel, Patan, the main city of Lalitpur. It is located in a small valley within the Kathmandu Valley. The river is the main source for irrigation for the farmland. Lele is a gateway to southern villages of Lalitpur including Bhardeu, Nallu, Chaughare and Gotikhel, and a centre of tourism.Lele was an important site under the ancient Licchavi dynasty; stone pillars dating to that era can be found there.

Kusunti (कुसुन्ती) is located in Lalitpur metropolitan city of Nepal. The area is small and is heavily populated. The reason behind this flow of people is the excavation of a large monument of Lord Shiva with live snakes taking care of this holy area. It is believed that one of the local residents dreamt of the monument being under the earth. Moreover, she told the locals about the order of God to unearth the monument the very next day. This was found to be true and afterwards there occurred a flow of Hindus from all over the country to pay their homage to Lord Shiva. Now there is a temple sheltering the statue of Lord Shiva and is famous as Pancheswor Mahadev (पञ्चेश्वर महादेव) throughout the area and around the country. The native residents are people with caste Limbu,Bogati,Dhungana,KC,Gajurel,Khadka.etc.Majuwa chaur is a local park. You can get there by taking Bogati marga. In a short span of time this place is turning into a high class residential area.

Bhardeu is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Konjyosom Rural Municipality in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 1,746 in 310 individual households.Bhardeu is a small village located in Lalitpur district, in the Bagmati zone of Nepal. The people are mostly Tamang (apx.65%) and Newar (apx.25%). The main languages spoken are Tamang and Nepali. Most of the people raise crops and livestock. Foreign remittances are also economically significant.Bhardeu VDC is 22 km south from ring-road Satdobato. There is also bus service present from Pyangaun, Chapagaun or from Lagankhel up to LELE Saraswoti Kunda station.

Anandaban Hospital aka Anandaban Leprosy Hospital is a non-government specialized tertiary leprosy care hospital located in Lele, Lalitpur in Bagmati Province of Nepal. It provides service to about 50,000 leprosy and general patients every year. In partnership with International Nepal Fellowship, it runs Green Pastures Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Pokhara.

Badikhel is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Godawari Municipality in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2,711 in 461 individual households. Bamboo is one of the major natural product of this village. A local dialect of the Newar language is spoken here. Its native speakers call it Pahari (Pāhāri) or Nagarkote, while to the Newar speakers of neighbouring Patan it is known as Pahibhāe.

Simba waterfall is located in Mahankal Rural Municipality, Lalitpur about 50 km from Kathmandu between Rigin Danda and Manikhel Khawa. The fall lies at an altitude of 2000 m, and it has five cascades.It is 300 meter tall. ‘Simba’ means cold in Tamang language.There is also a temple of Saraswati on the way to Lele from the fall.

Pakistan International Airlines Flight 268 was an Airbus A300, registration AP-BCP, which crashed while approaching Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport on 28 September 1992. All 167 people on board were killed. Flight 268 is the worst crash of Pakistan International Airlines, and the worst ever to occur in Nepal.

Godavari Sunrise Convention Center (Nepali: गोदावारी सनराइज सम्मेलन केन्द्र) is the second largest convention center of Nepal. The assembly hall was constructed in 43 Ropanis (approx 21875 m2)of land at a cost of NPR 810 million. The assembly hall has the capacity of 3000 people. The center was inaugurated by KP Sharma Oli in 2021.

Pyan Gaun, also spelled as Pyangaun, is a settlement that is part of the Chapagaun village development committee in the Lalitpur district of Nepal. It is located 14 km south of Kathmandu. The settlement is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship in bamboo, particularly in the production of buckets used for measurement.
