Nagadesh is an ancient Newar city in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. In 2011 it had a population of approximately 6,900 with more than 1500 houses in it, according to the 2011 Nepal census. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4,237 with 693 houses in it. Most people are engaged in farming. Gothatar is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Kageshwari-Manohara Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. It being handled By ward Secretary name Pragyan Adhikari. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 26,169 and had 6,749 households in it. The newly built Bagmati bridge connects Gothatar with the roadway to Jorpati. The Krishna Parnami Mandir is one of the major attractions in Gothatar. In between 2007 and 2010, the density of population has rapidly increased as more and more houses are being constructed. The majority of the population in Gothatar consists of Hindu Brahmins and Kshetris. The natives are mainly farmers who still have cowsheds in their homes despite being very close to the rush of the metropolitan Kathmandu. The public transportation in this area mainly consists of Nepal Yatayat, which formerly used to run from Ratnapark to Tej Binayak Chowk, but now has extended till Bodey. On a clear day, a beautiful panorama of the Ganesh Himal can be seen from here. Located on the banks of the Holy Bagmati River the soil of this region is found fertile.

Madhyapur Thimi, also known as Thimi, (Nepali: मध्यपुर थिमि) is a municipality in Bhaktapur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. Thimi lies between Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley. It is one of the ancient cultural and historical places along the trade route from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu. The city is situated on elevated land and occupies an area of 11.47 square kilometres (4.43 sq mi), divided into nine administrative wards. The mayor as of 2022 was Surendra Shrestha of the Nepali Congress.

Balkumari Temple (Nepali: बालकुमारी मन्दिर) of Bhaktapur District is one of four Kumari temples in Kathmandu Valley. The temple was built in the 17th century. In 2015, the original idol of Digu Bhairav from the 17th century was stolen from the temple.Sindoor Jatra starts form this temple. The festival is carried out in the temple in Nepali New Year Day. The pilgrims throw Vermillion powder (Sindur) in sky during the festival hence the name Sindoor Jatra. During the Jatra, 32 chariots are built containing the idols of various gods and goddesses.

University Grants Commission (विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग) is an autonomous government body of Nepal formed under the jurisdiction of UGC Act approved by the parliament of Nepal on 2 November 1993. UGC became functional in 1994 with the opening of its office at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. The main reason to establish UGC is to implement the concept of multiple universities in Nepal. Before UGC's establishment only Tribhuwan University looked after the higher education. The main objectives of the UGC are to coordinate among universities; allocate and disburse government grants to universities and higher educational institutions and take appropriate steps for the promotion and maintenance of standards of higher education in Nepal. UGC allocates and distributes grants to the universities and their campuses.

Purano Sinamangal or Pepsicola is a residential and commercial area in the eastern part of Kathmandu, Nepal. It falls under both the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and some parts of Kageshwori Manohara Ward 9. It encompasses 130 hectares and is bounded by the Manohara river in the south east, and share borders with Gothatar in the north, Madhyapur Thimi municipality of Bhaktapur District in south east.

Mulpani is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Kageshwari-Manohara Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. Mulpani was previously known as Bhaimal, meaning "no fear". At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4,718 living in 843 households. The main occupation of the people living in this village is agriculture. Mulpani is surrounded by Bagmati and Manohara river. Mulpani is famous for the Nepal's biggest International Cricket Ground, known as Mulpani Cricket Stadium, which is under construction. In the recent years, Mulpani has seen much change in its infrastructure and people as well. The main occupation in Mulpani was agriculture but now employment is more diverse.Mulpani has raised its standards of development by youth clubs like Chakhandol Youth Club on the western side and Jhulchowk Youth Unity Club (JYUC), Manohara Mulpani Youth Club, Friends Club®, Nabintam Youth Club® and Manohara Sports Club (MASPOC) on the Eastern side.

Mulpani Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Mulpani, Kathmandu, Nepal. There are 2 grounds including upper and lower ground. Upper Ground is handled by Cricket Association of Nepal and developed as a training ground. It has limited seating area for fans in eastern area of the ground. The upper ground has already hosted several national and international level tournaments whereas the lower ground is under construction.

Duwakot (Nepali: दुवाकोट) is a settlement and former Village Development Committee—now part of Changunarayan municipality, located in Bhaktapur district of Bagmati Province in central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 5,157 with 905 houses in it.

Suryabinayak Municipality (Nepali: सुर्यविनायक नगरपालिका) is a city in Bagmati Province in Central Nepal. It is the largest city of Bhaktapur district with a population of 137,971 with 23,637 households. It was created in December 2014 through the merger of the Village development committees of Kautunje (the municipality's centre), Sipadol, Nankhel and Chitpol. The municipality's name stems from the local Suryavinayak Temple. In March 2017, under new local level restructuring, Suryabinayak Municipality was expanded to include the neighboring municipality of Anantalingeshwor, adding four more previous VDCs of Sirutar, Gundu, Dadhikot and Balkot. According to the 2011 Nepal census, the predecessors of Suryabinayak Municipality had a population of 78,490.

The Mulpani International Cricket Ground, Commonly known as Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground or simply Mulpani Ground (Nepali: माथिल्लाे मुलपानी अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय क्रिकेट मैदान) is a cricket ground in Mulpani, Kathmandu, Nepal.

On 24 July 2024, a Bombardier CRJ200LR operated by Saurya Airlines crashed shortly after takeoff from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal, killing 18 out of the 19 people on board. The aircraft was operating a ferry flight to Pokhara to conduct a maintenance check and was carrying three crew members and sixteen passengers, mostly consisting of Saurya employees. During takeoff, the aircraft rapidly rolled both left and right before losing altitude. The right wing collided with the ground to the side of the runway and the aircraft was destroyed by the impact and post-crash fire. The captain was the sole survivor of the crash. The investigation, conducted by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission, determined that the aircraft rotated at an airspeed lower than optimal and the flight crew commanded an abnormally high pitch rate. The result was a deep stall during takeoff that was unrecoverable due to the aircraft's low altitude. Several other contributing factors were also noted by investigators. The V-speeds the crew used were based off an erroneous speedcard that displayed incorrect values. Multiple events at Saurya Airlines involving high pitch rates during takeoff were left unidentified and unaddressed. The loading process of the cargo was negligent; operational and ground handling manuals were violated and the load was not secured. Saurya Airlines suspended all flights following the crash.
